Located near San Antonio de los Altos in the Miranda State close to Caracas, the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research houses three works by Soto: “Mur de Bruxelles” and “Tour de Bruxelles” created in 1958, as well as “Vibración amarilla” from 1978.
Created for the Venezuelan Pavilion at the “Exposition universelle de Bruxelles” (Brussels universal exhibition), at the request of architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva, the monumental “Mur de Bruxelles” measures 18 meters long. Soto applies his principle of opposing a metal structure against a striped background on a large scale.
