The monumental “Volumen virtual suspendido” (24 x 10,6 x 10,6 m) was created in 1979 and integrated into the Centro Banaven in Caracas, in the building commonly known as “El Cubo Negro” (the black cube) due to its exterior appearance.

Its blue rods, suspended from the ceiling by wires, seem to create blue volumes depending on the viewer’s perspective. A transparency effect is also generated by the movement between the tubes and the viewers own displacement.
