The Venezuelan Institute of Technology for Petroleum (INTEVEP), located in the city of Los Teques at the Miranda State, very close to the Venezuelan capital, hosts the “Extension y esfera virtual” created by Soto for its building. This integration to architecture dates from 1984.

The layout of the rods and their painting, calculated to the millimetre by the artist, suggest the presence of a sphere suspended using his usual techniques. The natural light coming from the courtyard adjacent to the installation flows with the clarity of the white and yellow proposed by Soto in this work.
